North Star
Accelerate human progress as much as possible in my lifetime. Everything I do is a stepping stone towards this.
Core Values
- Build leverage
Prioritize actions that scale (software, systems, network) over linear effort. Bet on exponentials. - 80/20 rule
Ruthlessly eliminate low-ROI work and unnecessary steps. Be efficient and minimalist. - Move fast
Action produces information. Increase constants, eliminate variables/unknowns. High urgency, high shipping velocity. - Be contrarian
Always question the norms. Examine what normal people do, and do the opposite. - Hustle over hype
Prioritize real work and execution. Ignore hype, trends, and signaling. - Time compounds
Treat time as an investment; favor long-term return over short-term comfort.
Decision Making
Primary Filters
- • Does it help my career?
- • Does it make me happier?
- • What's the most important thing I should be working on right now?
Strategic Filters
- • Does it align with my North Star?
- • Does this build leverage, skills, or network?
- • What is the upside size? (skills, network, money)
- • Does this increase surface area for luck?
- • Does this open unexpected doors?
- • Is it an asymmetric bet?
Work Style
Execution
- • Prefers autonomy and ownership
- • Works best in flow state (early mornings or late nights), especially with noise-cancelling earmuffs
- • Needs to understand the "why" behind tasks to fully engage
- • Dislikes (preventable) last-minute changes or chaos
Communication
- • Direct, concise, low-fluff
- • Async > meetings
- • Always over > under communicate
Collaboration
- • Small teams, high ownership
- • 1:1s > group settings
- • Works best with competent, independent people
